As part of our Well Engineer Competency Profile, we offer an iAssesment service to guide participants and direct their learning so that they get the most out of the experience. This is further supplemented by a series of audio clips that can be downloaded from the website (see the downloads section) which help to explain the requirements of each skill in the profile. In addition, a solid network of support is provided by our senior engineers for trainee Well Engineers enrolled on this program.
Our unique in-house 'target based' competency profile, based on 30 years of experience, is the first step on the road to demonstrating your development in knowledge and skills. By joining us you will have access to our competency profile, read the assistance notes, listen to guidance on how to achieve each individual competency, and take a voluntary confidential competency assessment on the web site. Your progress through the modules can be monitored by us if you wish, and we will send you personalised guidance notes for skills building.
Each skill may be acquired by the member through the study of our training notes, their personal study of the subject, and of course their own direct work experience. When the member is confident of the topic, he/she may take on the relevant test papers, via our in-house 'competency' test, in the members' section of the web site. Once the passing grade of the test papers have been achieved, the member can use the results as a self guide on progress or even submit to his/her employer as an indication of improved capabilities, or use the results to strive for employment in the Oil & Gas Well Engineering field. Our own graduate engineers are working towards an MPDS (Monitored Professional Development Scheme) with the Engineering council of the UK, and we have a close relationship with the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore.
