 Aims

At the end of the course attendees should be able to:

 

  • be familiar with history of Oil and Gas
  • be familiar with the basic concepts of Geology and Geophysics
  • know essential equipment used during well construction on different types of drilling rigs
  • know the purpose of  drilling fluids
  • know the purpose of casings and design as per requirement
  • know the purpose of cementing
  • recognise the different compositions of the drillstring
  • comprehend the importance of wellbore stability
  • be familiar with concept of directional drilling
  • be familiar with concept of logging
  • be familiar with the purpose of completion and various types of completion
  • have an idea of conducting an offset well review
